We Knew From the Beginning
When my first daughter, Isabel, was just a few weeks old, I noticed something. Whenever I kissed or cooed at her: she smiled. I knew what all the baby books said, babies don’t knowingly smile that early, and yet, I was convinced I had seen it. Excited, I shared this with several people I know, and the consensus was the same. “It’s too early,” they said. A little embarrassed I’d even brought it up, I dismissed what I had believed I’d seen. But, after 2 more kids, and more confidence now in my intuition as a mom, I know what I saw. And, YOU know, too, Mom. Love matters.
You see it when they coo and smile as you kiss and caress their sweet little faces. You see it when they cling to you, when a situation feels a little too new or scary. You see it when they snuggle in close for that final night-time feeding. And, you see it in everything from their little hands reaching out for you, to their very first words. You know what you know, Mom, whether your little one can say it yet or not: they love you. You are the source of their comfort, their protection, their very life. Being a mom isn’t always easy; but love is what makes it worth it. And there’s just no love like the love of your little one.
If your little one could talk, I’m sure they’d tell the world, “I Love My Milkmaker.” They love you, and they know that you are the one who meets their every need. Yes, down to providing them with nature’s most perfect food: milk. I hope you’ll take the time to soak up all the love your little one has for you; they think you’re the best, and, we agree. That’s why I’m so excited that my gift to you this Valentine’s Day is a onesie that says just that. Happy Valentine’s Day! Go, Mom!
