My babies have taught me
Love, patience and joy to a degree I never knew existed.

My favorite children’s music
The Putuymayo Kids collection of CDs – they focus on international children’s songs from all over the world and are very soothing.

I wish someone would have told me before having kids that
There are never any breaks!

Wisdom I can share
Live in the moment.

The biggest challenge I face
Balancing time for me, my spouse, and my kids (and all of my other relationships/commitments).

The best thing about being a mom
Is the satisfying feeling that keeps growing and continues to be rewarding with each passing day.

I “treat” myself by
Having quiet time to myself – it can be something simple like taking an extra long shower, or going to run errands without being rushed or a splurge like a mani/pedi.

mom to Jordan (2 ½ years) & Lauren (1 months)

I work part-time from home as a recruiter for the largest internet search engine.  This has been fulfilling on multiple levels for me.  I love having that adult/workplace interaction and challenges required of me in my role.  However, since it is part-time, it is not as demanding and allows me to be the primary caregiver for my children.  I feel lucky that I get to participate in the fun activities, pickups/drop offs from school, etc., while still allowing me to have my own career. Parenting is the biggest commitment I have taken on, and one that will satisfy me for a lifetime.  It is definitely hard work, but seeing my kids happy, healthy and developing into their own person is amazing.  I can’t think of anything else that I would rather be doing!

I can relate to the challenges any new mom may experience with breastfeeding. The biggest challenge for me is scheduling my day around nursing, knowing I have to be “on” every 2-3 hours.  I enjoy the quiet and intimate 1:1 time I get with my baby while breastfeeding.  Knowing that this breastfeeding phase is relatively short and will not last forever makes me appreciate it even more.

I received milkmakers as a gift right after Lauren was born and I think they are the perfect gift.  I have been eating them from the beginning and am not having any milk supply issues.  I love that milkmakers taste fantastic and are actually good for you!  What a great concept!
